For me, this game started it all. Who would have thought a game about killing animals and being a plumber who eats mushrooms would have become the success that it has become? Yet this game captures for me why video games are fun. You have variety of course because of the three different games in one cartridge but each game is quality as well. Duck Hunt, takes something that would have been boring and changes it into something that continues to draw you in even today, maybe it is the dog’s mocking laugh, or just the perfect increase of difficulty. Mario on the other hand isn’t necessarly the hardest of games, but the controls are perfectly set and there is hidden depth throughout. Sure you can beat the game quickly but in order to master it and find all its secrets can take months. Why is a game realeased so long ago still fun to play? It is because it is nearly perfect!
